I have really enjoyed your site, and am happy that my daughter Carrie Scoone found you and your farm for Faith and Manolo.
Anyone who can write with so much love for animals is alright in my book.
Can't wait to visit!
Tree I always love scrolling through your website for the 10 or 15 minutes that I look through it occasionally it takes me away to a beautiful breezy day in the soft grasses with horses. I really love it!
I know I'm very late, but I just want to say how very sorry I am about Quest. I read your beautiful tribute with tears in my eyes. I never got another pet after I lost my Shotty (my guinea pig when I was 12 years old). You cannot imagine how much I cried. I keep saying I'll get another pet whan I'm 80. Hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving.
I stumbled upon your website because I was searching for a barn home that was built by "Barn Pros". The name of the farm is Meadow Creek. Apparently there are several by the same name. I began looking at your projects pages and, well, I've read the whole site. Ok, I have been from tears (God bless Quest), to laughter several times. I think we came from the same piece of fabric as your neighbor.
I am quite the do-it-yourselfer horsewoman as you are. I too found that the near-by cemetery was expanding and put 23 15-year-old arborvitaes on a burn pile soon to be torched. I went over and, well, got them for free. He even used his backhoe and dug the holes and helped me plant them. They really gave character to our 30-acres.
I too had to put down my beloved 37-year-old TB/Percheron gelding. My love. I would take him for walks down the street like one would take a dog. The neighbors loved it. He would run to the barn whenever he heard me with the bridle and saddle comin' a clankin'. He loved to go bye-bye.
Now I am in the process of drawing plans for my dream barn. Hence, I stumbled upon your site. You two are great; sounds like us so much. You give me incentive to keep up with my blog, but I always think I'm too busy to write. I'll try harder, thank you for that.
I just wanted to let you know my thoughts. Keep up the good work. You guys are doing great things.
Hey guys! Long time! I was just talking to Mimi the other day about getting Max some horse riding lessons and she told me about your website. Makes me miss home!!! WOW! Can't believe it has been five years. Last time we talked you just bought the farm. (HAHA!!)
Jimmy and I are still in Germany. We think we will be back in the fall.
So excited for you guys that you have found your slice of heaven and continue to thrive there. The place looks amazing and all of the little (and big) critters living with you are blessed to have you guys! Look forward to seeing you guys soon. Love ya!
